The Infiorite of Spello - Floral Decorations of Spello Italy


Spello is an ancient town in province of Perugia Italy (Umbria Region). This small medieval town is located between Perugia and Florence. One of Spello's most popular events are the Floral Decorations. The floral decorations are some floral arrangements, and constitute an act of religious devotion and baccalaureate while folk whose origins are lost in time. In Umbria this old tradition is celebrated on the feast of Corpus Domini 
(June).

In the beautiful setting of the medieval town of Spello, one can admire the beautiful scenery that offer all the streets covered with floral paintings and liturgical ornaments. These arrangements are prepared carefully for weeks but it is only during the evening and night precedent the party who are willing to carpet the streets smelling flowers and herbs that, with their scents and brilliant colors, creating a spectacular of great beauty in the streets , a masterpiece of artistic creativity in Spello. A show that lasts only a few hours before noon, the main church in solemn procession moves along the path covered by flowers.
